9:08 pm	I get to leave the rock..... Well today they decided to tell me that at the last minute that I was chosen to go to Juneau, AK for a class on surivial in the water/woods of Alaska. (what the fu@k do I know I am from Florida)so I leave for it on the 3rd of APR, but anyways it gets me to a city (somewhat?) and off of this Rock that they Call Dutch Harbor. So its the end of march and the weather should be clearing up....but its not it has snowed for two days straight but i don't care because i like to see it snow, the fun part of it hasn't worn off yet. (it takes everything that I have not to pelt one of my fellow co-worker with a slush ball) I'm not complaining because its not that bad its just the little things that get to you like making a phone call to one of you fine individuals takes a half an hour to dial all of the number that they put on the phone cards and lord forbid if i miss dial the number halfway through, the price of a half gallon of milk is at a lovely 6.37, so i go to the pool to try to get the mother of all afternoon side jobs as a life guard and find out that they will not be hiring until Sept. they pay 18 bucks an hour starting off with no experience hell i was a lifeguard for 2-3 yrs (I'm not saying that i was good at it!) but that i have a little knowledge. well i will be home in late May the 22-01 of June guesstamation. later Current Mood: dont know why (1 Comment |Comment on this)

10:37 pm	I got my new toy! yes that is correct i just got my self a brand new ipod i gave in to the desire ive wanted one for about 2yrs now but never really had a reason to buy one because you normally use them for bike riding, exercising, traveling, walking, and many other thing that i try not to do on a regular basis, but now that i travel and im going to attempt to work out at least once a week. which probally wont happen until i get the hang of things here first i say by the 1st of april give or take a yr. on the upside of things they have a salt water pool and need lifeguards (i used to be a lifeguard) and i talked to one of the local police (5-0 for the thugs that may read this and you know who you are 1 nad jones) that when he did it they paid $18 PER HR. so i figure that if i can get them to hire me it might make me swim and i would get paid to do it. but i did my second fishing vessel saftey exam and it went pretty good i didnt look like a complete dumb a$$. i bet that you guys didnt know that fishing vessel exams were not rocket sceince? 9:03 pm	my stuffs almost here....... well i sent my house hold goods (basicly every thing that i wanted sent to alaska) over a month ago and just received a phone call that they have arrived in anchorage and they will be sent out on the 21 which means that they will get here 10 days after that. that probably dosent seem like much to you guys but there are no radio stations out here and i dont have cable (yet) im going to see how long i can hold out! so any form of entertainment is highly valuable to me. i sent my brother pics of my apartment so if you know him ask for them. the pics alone will make you depressed and you dont even have to deal with the weather. but for real its not hat bad and i could have cable if i wanted to pay 58.96 a month for something that goes out constantly due to rain but i need to study so i can get advanced and if i do then cable will be my reward. but its alot different up here for example i havent been in a car in over10yrs without my seat belt and i know that i should wear it but the paved roads here are so bad that the seat belt starts to tighten up with every bump in the road, also they leave the keys in the cars, dont lock them or anything but i guess that if anyone did steal a car where are they going to go ITS AN ISLAND. well ill thy to write more often. p.s. if you have lots of mp3's that you would not mind burning to a disk so i can have some tunes please give them to mike so my mom can ship them up to me. thanks justin Current Mood: ipod shows up monday (1 Comment |Comment on this)

12:55 pm	the weekend Well this was my first weekend hanging out with the people that i work with, not alot diffrent that when i first got into the coast guard alot of drinking and alot of guys. I've noticed that there isn't alot of eye candy walking around (its nice to look) i mean its not like florida. On the upside we had a bonfire and hung out i couldn't drink i was on duty but i don't know if i would have even if i wasn't on duty. I took some pretty cool photos of the coastline, bald eagles,and mountains ect... also i took some photos of my lavish crib and i talked to MTV and they were so impressed with what i did with it there going to do an episode on the coast guard in Dutch Harbor, also there going to do a spring break edition and i get to host it (i bet that you all want to be here hahahaha to bad)well shoot me an email so when i send the pics out if you want to see them that you get on the list. later (3 Comments |Comment on this)

7:30 pm	sorry it took so long WELL I HAVE BEEN HERE A WEEK AND I LIKE IT SO FAR BUT IM SURE THAT IT WILL WEAR OFF SOON ENOUGH. THE PEOPLE THAT I WORK FOR SEEM PRETTY COOL THEY DONT MAKE ME SHAVE BECAUSE OF THE WEATHER SO ITS NOT THAT BAD. THE WEATHER IS ALOT LIKE OR. AND WA. I GUESS THAT ITS JUST THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST. THERE ARE BALD EAGLES EVERYWHERE AND THEY ARE LIKE BIG NASTY SEAGULLS WITH TALONS. THEY ARE ALL OVER THE ISLAND AND BUY THE DUMP. I GOT TO SEE A VOLCANO THAT WAS STEAMING ABOVE THE CLOUD LINE DURING THE FLIGHT, ALSO WE FLEW OVER THE NORTHERN ROCKIES. SO WHAT I DO HERE SINCE EVERYONE KEEP ASKING IS I DO VOLUNTEER FISHING VESSEL F/V SAFETY EXAMS. AND THAT IS ABOUT IT BUT HAVE BEEN ON SOME FOREIGN BOATS AND GOT SOME COOL STUFF LIKE COKE/PEPSI BOTTLES FROM JAPAN THEY LOOK LIKE RED BULL CANS. THERE IS A BUNCH OF WWII STUFF HERE LIKE POST THAT YOU SCREW INTO THE GROUND AND RUN BARB WIRE THROUGH, CANNONS, BUNKERS AND STUFF LIKE THAT IF YOU WANT PICS TALK TO THE PEOPLE THAT YOU KNOW ME THROUGH AND HAVE THEM SEND THEM TO YOU OR SHOOT ME AN E-MAIL BECAUSE IT TAKES TO LONG TO POST THEM ON HERE. 12:01 am	The Zoo today i went to the jacksonville zoo with my mom and brother. we all had a pretty good time then we played dominoes at mikes house and just hung out. that felt pretty good because we dont really do alot of things like that together to often. i got home and my dog greeted me at the door and was happy to see me, just imagine how he will be after a year (my dog loves me!) im going to miss him alot but hopefully i will be able to get him up there sometime. well ive got more plans for tomorrow to go eat lunch with my cousin and say goodbye and stuff. 5 days left. bbuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Current Mood: anxious (Comment on this)

12:00 am	The same old stuff i just learned how to post pics on this thing earlier today so i hope that i can get some pics of alaska for all of you to see. tonight i went out to eat with justin, his parents, amy, joe, sasha, and tiffany at buca di beppo's. amy and joe went to see hitch with tiff and myself and i just walked in the door. im really trying to do this journal stuff because im really bad at keeping in touch through e-mail.
